We’ve had such a great experience at The Little Gym in Silver Spring! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and created a fun, supportive environment for kids to learn and grow. The instructors are energetic, patient, and clearly love what they do. They strike a perfect balance between structured activities and free exploration, which keeps kids engaged while also building confidence, coordination, and social skills. Every class feels thoughtfully planned, and it’s amazing to see how much progress happens over time. The facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, which gives us peace of mind as parents. We also really appreciate how inclusive and encouraging the atmosphere is—every child is celebrated and supported at their own pace. It’s become something we genuinely look forward to each week, and it’s been such a joy watching our child have fun while developing new skills. Highly recommend to any families in the area!

We have been to several birthday parties here. They are always well organized, engaging and take a lot of the party organizing pressure off parents. One huge advantage: you get the entire space to your group, so there’s no sensory overload, chaotic weekend party energy risk. All the instructors have been kind and excellent with small children, the equipment is clean and well maintained, and it has plenty of seating for adults in addition to the children’s activity space.

We love TLG Silver Spring! It has been great for my 2 year old. Our class incorporates both group exercises and individual exploration. My daughter loves practicing certain skills at the gym and at home, & is obsessed with Mr Sean (her teacher & the director). Plus I enjoy talking with the other grownups in class, & have formed friendships as a result. It’s almost like a class field trip to Trader Joe’s next door afterwards 😆 We also enjoy the extra free events & open gym times!

TLGSS has been great for us thus far. We attended their open house in late March to get info on classes, camps, & birthdays. I spoke with Ms. Brooke and Mr. Shawn, who were exceedingly helpful and answered my many questions and assuaged concerns. They made it very clear that they're willing work with you, iykyk. Our 4 year old daughter attended her first class on April 1 and she beamed the entire time! She's a pretty chill kid and that was the most excited I've ever seen her! She loved it from start to finish. The class sizes are limited to 14 kids or fewer with 2 instructors minimum (her class had 3). The kids got quite a bit of free okay to simply get comfortable in the little gym and familiarize themselves with the equipment. Interspersed throughout the hour-long session was structured play and games. The kids interacted happily with one another and the instructors. Parents were allowed in the gym space during class as needed to support their kid(s), but generally remain outside of the room and can watch through wall-to-wall & floor-to-ceiling windows from the hallway/parent during area. This area is lined with multicolored chairs and a few play areas for other kids/siblings not in the class. Parents can enjoy personal time while they wait (many had headphones on, others were on their phones or having casual conversations with one another). It could be a great opportunity for community building if you're a family seeking other families with kids for playdates and experiences throughout the city. We're new to the whole thing, but I'm sure we'll get there. The staff are SO kind and kid-friendly. We've had a wonderful experience thus far and would highly recommend anyone to join. Also, there is a parking lot (it's in Burnt Mills plaza with a Trader Joe's, Starbucks, and other venues) with front & rear parking. Entry into the building around the back, either up stairs or an elevator. We didn't know when we first came and had to ask a "neighbor." Our class is in the evening after school/with, so we drive from DC to the plaza during rush hour traffic and it took us 45 min. But since we live in SS, by the time class was over, it took us 12 min to get home. So, if you have the scheduling flexibility, timing does matter. Weekend classes are available, but more expensive & full up quickly (we're on the wait-list for a Saturday afternoon class). TLGSS also offers weekend programming outside of class, and although we haven't participated in any of that yet, we're looking forward to doing so. We did research and cost comparisons for other programs & locations before deciding to join. If you're on the fence, just go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

All staff members are consistently welcoming and very friendly. They are attentive to all of the kids and provide individual one-on-one time. My grandson is 10 months old and really enjoys the gym lesson activities and interacting with the other little children!
