4 Outdoor Adventures in Idaho Falls for YOU and YOUR KIDS!
The last few weeks before school starts can be difficult; you’re ready for school to start again and your kids are anything but ready. Ease off the pressure for both of you and enjoy the day outside! The Idaho Falls area is chock-full of fantastic outdoor entertainment.
In case you aren’t sure where to start, consider our top four favorites:
1. Tautphaus Park
Tautphaus Park is basically the Central Park of Idaho Falls. With the Idaho Falls Zoo, Funland Amusement Park, the Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Rink, a skate park, tennis courts, baseball fields and incredible playgrounds, it’s not an exaggeration to say that you could easily spend the day here and not run out of things to do.
2. Idaho Falls Zoo
Technically part of Tautphaus Park, the Idaho Falls Zoo deserves its own place on this list. With over 400 species of animals and its beautiful grounds, the zoo offers hours of easy entertainment (along with some good educational opportunities).
3. City of Ammon Swimming Pool
I think most of us can agree that it’s hard to be outdoors in the hot weather, so pull on your swimwear and dive into cooler waters! Located in McCowin Park, the Ammon Pool and splash pad is an inexpensive and cool way to have a flippin’ good time!
4. Idaho Falls River Walk
Is any list of outdoor things to do in Idaho Falls really complete without the River Walk? Scenic views, play areas, lots of shade, a stunning Japanese garden and frequent free events for the whole family to enjoy—it doesn’t get any better than that, so pack a picnic and take a lap or two! And wear your kids out (outside or inside) for the rest of the day while you’re at it!
And when it is just too HOT outside, utilize your Little Gym membership OR become a new member of THE LITTLE GYM OF IDAHO FALLS & bring your family inside to "beat the heat" with some serious indoor fun! We love our members and community!
