The last month has just not gone well for multiple reasons, but it's mostly the interactions between the children that go unchecked. Currently Brayden does not want to go back to class and I am at the point of not making him. He is a bright kid with some emotional delays and very small size due to being a premie. So we know we have some challenges. We chose to move him from the Friday class to the Tuesday class because kids there kept telling him he was a baby and shouldn't be in the class. The Tuesday class went better for a little while but not so much any more. There is a true clique of three kids in that class, and while three are good kids, they really don't want to interact with kids not in their trio. I thought this would get better with time, but if Brayden is told to sit between two of the three he gets hit. If he sits between them on his own he gets hit. Today he tried to talk to two of them before class and was told by the kids that they didn't "want to see him" while they turned their backs. So of course he felt a lack of confidence going into the class. Then I watched as he told another boy to stop chasing him, stop touching him etc. Then the boy started hitting and gave him a bloody nose. Brayden did hit back and that was seen by the teachers and so he was in trouble. Brayden didn't want to interact with the kids much at that point and was in trouble for much of the class for not participating in the group activities. Admittedly he has a hard time focusing on any day, but today was particularly bad and he was usually in trouble for it with no notice of how the kids were treating him. At one point he was inside the circle matt and had caused a log jam because he wouldn't move. I had to go in and remove him because he has one kid on each side of the matt punching him trying to move him. I told him he couldn't just lay there but apparently no one but me had an issue with him laying there being punched. And the kids who were punching did exactly what Brayden was doing as soon as I moved him. He doesn't want to go back, he wants to go to a gym where the kids don't fight him.

There have been so many changes with instructions and many of these instructors are not engaging for the age group that my daughter is in. The pace of the class was too slow, it started late, and ended early. There has only been two instructors that I have been very impressed with: one that attends CU in Boulder and leaves during the academic year and Mikela.

We started our son there when he was about 11 months old, and it has helped to improve his balance and coordination tremendously. He loves the music and getting to run around and climb!
