Who we are at

The Little Gym of Chicago

Motor Skill Development Made Fun Builds Confidence  that Leads to a Lifetime of Success. For over 25  years, The Little Gym® has done just that. Owners,  Adam and Ileana Stone have always been passionate  about children. Along with their two children, The  Little Gym has become their family. Since the opening  in April 2003, the “five star” rated staff has trained  thousands of children from the ages of 4 months to 12  years old. They love building a child’s self esteem and  helping them reach their highest level of mental,  physical and emotional growth. Having a child or  parent thank you for making a difference in their  child’s life is PRICELESS! Adam’s business  background and his lacrosse experience at the  University of Northern Illinois and Ileana’s many  years as a lawyer and accountant for large Chicago  firms has shaped The Little Gym of Chicago into one  of the best gyms in the nation. Gym Director Tammy  Shuk Phillips has 20 years plus experience teaching  gymnastic in both competitive and non-competitive  programs. She first joined The Little Gym family in  1997 as an instructor at The Little Gym in South  Bend, Indiana while attending The University of Notre  Dame.  She then spent over a year as the Program  Director in Glenview. Tammy has been the Gym  Director of The Little Gym of Chicago since the  opening in April 2003. A mother of two herself,  Tammy prides herself on helping children grow skills  in a safe, nurturing environment.  The entire staff of  The Little Gym of Chicago invite you to explore the  program offerings to find the one thatʼs just right for  your child. Philosophy

Our Philosophy of Three Dimensional Learning

The Little Gym of Chicago, our environment is fun, but our purpose is serious. That’s why we embrace a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing your whole child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class we offer fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Citizen Kid!.  Read on to see how each dimension of learning helps your child grow into a well-rounded, well-adjusted super kid.

History
45 Years of

Serious Fun

An innovative educator, musician and kinesiologist, Robin Wes envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually. He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington and infused those early classes with the same positive, non-competitive spirit that characterizes us today. Forty-five years later, children at The Little Gym of Chicago experience the benefits of Serious Fun.
