Our Story

Who we are at

The Little Gym at Cherry Hill

In 2021 Beverly residents Chip and Amy Selley purchased The Little Gym of Danvers and relocated it from busy Route 114, to the Cherry Hill Corporate Park only about 7 minutes away, right behind everyone's summertime favorite, Cherry Farm Creamery. The Selley's built out this brand spankin' new facility through the Summer of 2021 following their dream of one day giving the community a bustling health and fitness center to serve the children and young families of Cape Ann and beyond.

With Amy being a preschool teacher with over 20 years' experience, and Chip a longtime tech entrepreneur, The Little Gym is a perfect fit. For the past decade Amy has worked at Beverly Public Schools intensive integrated classroom at McKeown School. Safe to say she's got a few tricks up her sleeve for helping children! (btw, check out Amy's wicked helpful blog posts!)

But it's hardly about the owners - it's about the amazing team that trains every day, and prepares every day, to teach successful classes for your children. Led by Gym Director Miss Maddy Johnson, we know it's all about the culture, and making every team member feel valued, inspired and empowered.

Below are the profiles of our team, flip through the pics and learn about your child's instructor. We have High School students, college students and graduates; all of them working hard to create a positive learning environment and opportunities for your child to try new things and build self-confidence, all while having tons of Serious Fun!

We invite you to call or stop by anytime – we are looking forward to getting to know you and sharing more about The Little Gym at Cherry Hill.  C'mon in and check us out, sign up for a free trial class here

Our Philosophy of Three Dimensional Learning

The Little Gym at Cherry Hill, our environment is fun, but our purpose is serious. That’s why we embrace a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing your whole child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class we offer fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Citizen Kid!.  Read on to see how each dimension of learning helps your child grow into a well-rounded, well-adjusted super kid.

45 Years of

Serious Fun

An innovative educator, musician and kinesiologist, Robin Wes envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually. He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington and infused those early classes with the same positive, non-competitive spirit that characterizes us today. Forty-five years later, children at The Little Gym at Cherry Hill experience the benefits of Serious Fun.

We're proud of
