Enhanced Cleaning Procedures at The Little Gym of South Austin

We are following the instructions from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to ensure that our facility is so fresh and so clean for your family. Now, more than ever, we can assure that The Little Gym is and will be the cleanest place you can bring your child. A lot will be the same, like prioritizing the health and happies of our TLG kids, but a few things might feel a bit different. Don’t worry, we are all in this together and doing everything we can to help keep your family safe!

Check out this video our team put together to highlight all of the things we’re doing to ensure that The Little Gym of South Austin is a healthy, safe place for all. Then, feel free to check out the bullet points below of our most recent updates...

New Cleaning Standards: On top of the Neutron solution cleaning products we use daily, we are now using an outisde company Dis-In-Fx who uses Razor Antimicrobial Coating, a CDC and EPA approved cleaning spray, which provides long lasting surface protection from microbes, ensuring the safest environment for your kids. In addition...

  • We have increased the time between classes (no lingering policy) to limit overlap of classes as well as give our team members extra time to sanitize both the gym and the lobby between classes
  • Use of small equipment (balls, shakers, etc.) will not be shared among students and will be disinfected between each use.
  • Regular cleaning of mats and equipment, including hourly checklists of the entire facility.
  • Bathrooms will be wiped down with disinfectant between classes and will be fully cleaned and disinfected mid and end of each day.
  • The lobby area will be wiped down with disinfectant between classes and will be fully cleaned and disinfected mid and end of each day.

** A list of all our procedures & cleaning products are available upon request.

Hand Washing Regulations: We are now implementing hand washing before and after each class. Children will be asked to wash hands when entering the facility and directly proceeding exiting the gym. The Little Gym team members will ensure kids are frequently washing hands and playing in appropriate ways. We will also have hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes readily available throughout the facility.

Social Distancing & Class Structure: Due to public safety guidelines, class sizes are limited - Parent/ Child Classes: 4 kids per class with only one adult allowed per child, Pre-K Classes and Camp: Up to 8 kids per class, Grade School: Up to 9 kids per class.  Increased distance between children whenever possible using spot markers and physical barriers both inside the gym and in the lobby. There is a new lobby flow with one entrance and one exit door in and out of the gym & facility. The use of the entire gym is encouraged during all gym activities to help keep everyone spaced out. We ask that all parents wait outside the facility until greeted by a team member, who will then lead you through the check in process.

Temperature Checks: Each family member will undergo a temperature check before entering the facility. Our no-touch thermometer will ensure it is safe for your child to enter The Little Gym (100.0 F). In addition, each team member will undergo a temperature check before starting their shift. Be sure to check out the video at the top of the page for detailed overview of the check in process.

Mask Policy: To ensure the health, safety, and comfortability of our staff, you may see our instructors wearing colorful masks while in the lobby, conducting class, or spotting children on the gym equipment. Adults absolutely must wear masks at all times in the facility - Both in the lobby & gym. Children over 6 must wear masks in the lobby and can remove them before entering the gym. Rather than our traditional high-five, we will be limiting contact with Air 5’s, Jazz Hands, or another fun, contact-less, way to celebrate your child’s accomplishments throughout our camp activities.

Drinking Water: We encourage all students to bring a clearly labeled water bottle to Class & Camp as we will be closing our drinking fountain for the time being.
