Our Story

Who we are at

The Little Gym of Aberdeen

Hello! We are Shannon and Andrew Daoud. We purchased The Little Gym of Aberdeen in January of 2009 after successfully owning and operating 2 other The Little Gyms since 2005. We have 3 beautiful children that have grown through The Little Gym from the Bugs class at 4 months old thru aging out at 12 years old. Now that 2 are in high school you may see them instructing classes and parties! Andrew is an Account Manager for a fortune 100 company and you will see him from time to time at the front desk and at gym gatherings. I, Shannon work full time managing our 2 gym locations. I have my B.S. in Health Sciences and M.S. in Occupational Therapy with a specializtion in pediatrics. You will see me teaching, visiting in the lobby and spending time at the front desk. I have always loved working with children and I love The Little Gym program and its impact on children.  As an Occupational Therapist I chose this business because it supports the whole child. It is a lot of fun and play, but it provides so much more. The wonderful curriculm provided and constantly updated by the franchise supports growth - physically, socially and cognitively. We look forward to meeting you and having you as a part of our The Little Gym family!

Philosophy

Our Philosophy of Three Dimensional Learning

The Little Gym of Aberdeen, our environment is fun, but our purpose is serious. That’s why we embrace a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing your whole child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class we offer fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Citizen Kid!.  Read on to see how each dimension of learning helps your child grow into a well-rounded, well-adjusted super kid.

History
45 Years of

Serious Fun

An innovative educator, musician and kinesiologist, Robin Wes envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually. He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington and infused those early classes with the same positive, non-competitive spirit that characterizes us today. Forty-five years later, children at The Little Gym of Aberdeen experience the benefits of Serious Fun.
