We're getting excited about summer camps here at The Little Gym of Alderwood in Lynnwood WA. and here's why: We love having fun and using our imaginations as much as your kids do.
What can you get accomplished in 3 hours while your child is having a spectacular spy adventure, cheering loud and proud, or finding the Ninja's hideout!?
You trust us with your child on a weekly basis for classes...now you can know your child is getting that same high quaility care and attention in our safe environment this summer.
Summer camp at The Little Gym of Alderwood is a great way to get all that extra energy out while still building motor skills, listening skills and building friendships.
We have 2 registration options to make it easy for you to get your child signed up for summer fun:
  1. Sign up by the week/theme and get a discount for each additional day of camp your child attends in the same week.
  2. Try our "NEW" Family Flex Pass which allows you to buy camps in bulk (5 or 10 camps at a time). These camp days can be used at any time during the summer and can be shared with siblings. A 5 day pass is a great value at $125 (members) with all that flexibility!

Everything we do in the gym is "Real Gymnastics"! It's just broken down into age-appropriate progressions for all the different age groups we teach here at The Little Gym of Alderwood.
Each lesson plan hits the milestones for that particular age group whether it's in our parent/child classes, preschool/kindergarten classes or our grade school classes. Our weekly themed lesson plans break down the skills to build the muscle groups so when the skill is age appropriate, the kids have the strength and the motor-pathways needed to perform it.
You wouldn't have a six year old start math with algebra...we don't start 2 year olds in our parent/child classes with cartwheels. We do, however, teach them monkey jumps. This strengthens their shoulders for cartwheels, develop the direction their cartwheel will eventually be, teaches them how to get their feet to the ground.....all while they're having fun! This is what we call "Serious Fun":The kids are having fun and we know the benefits they are getting from every progression they attempt in their class here at The Little Gym of Alderwood in Lynnwood WA.
As kids grow into our grade school gymnastics program, our hope is that our kids can be "KIDS" and experience life, not be committed to the "GYM" for 16 plus hours a week. We are very aware that they are very sensitive about their skill level. We work hard to make sure they understand that no matter what progression they are working on that we only care that they "try their best to be their best". This builds self confidence and self esteem along with the skills. Hum... healthy kids inside and out!
Our Grade school program uses USA gymnastics as a base for every lesson plan. I know this because I was asked to help write the curriculum. We run classes in an obstacle format so the kids keep moving and aren't waiting in line to take their turn. Within the obstacle, every lesson plan is jammed packed with drills to build the strength needed for skills like glide kips...you may not see a glide kip for awhile but they are working on the parts and will put it all together as they get all the pieces.
Our goal is that our kids learn the basics they will need to compete for their high school teams or even competitively once they are ready to commit to one sport. I'm inserting a link to our you-tube channel to show the skill level the kids can reach through our program.

She is performing a front aerial, backhandspring walkout. Her goal is to perform this as her acro-series on the beam!

It's never too early to start your child in motor skill development classes. Here at The Little Gym of Alderwood, in Lynnwood Wa., we have the cutiest class of bugs (4-10 month old parent/child class) you'll ever see!
If you're thinking: My baby can't even crawl yet, so why should I go to a gym class? Well, there's a lot going on in those tiny heads. Everything that's absorbed at this age lays the groundwork for overall functional development. Weekly mommy and me classes will help your child achieve new milestones and prepare for more advanced challenges during each stage of growth. And for you, a chance to interact with other moms who are going through many of the same experiences.
