As the Season progresses, I see so many relationships being developed. As a teacher, getting to know my students and parents is such a pleasure as I expand my The Little Gym family. More importantly, though, I see relationships being developed between parents in our Parent/Child classes, between even infants, and of course between our older children. Some infants even grow up in our program together, maintaining a relationship that can take them all the way through grade school. When I sit back and watch 16 month olds sharing bells, when I see three year olds trading balls in pursuit of a desired color, and when I see six year olds helping each other with different skills, my heart expands with joy. These children are learning how to bond with one another all through a common ground: The Little Gym. Even when a child is absent, I hear, "Where is Finley today? Is she sick?" Wow, what caring, loving children we are watching grow. It touches my heart every time.
Not only are the children maintaining these relationships, but parents are developing these awesome friendships that will last them maybe a life time. I have always been a firm believer that it is a necessity for all new parents to make friends that are also parents of children around the same age. For example, in our Parent/Child classes, each parent is watching their child grow in the same way that other parents are watching their children of the same age grow. They are hitting the same milestones, and having the same meltdowns. This support is so crucial to adults as they enter parenthood. I sometimes hear parents say "Wow, it's still weird to see 'Parent' or 'Legal Guardian' on paperwork". Guess what? That will be their title for the rest of their lives! Parenting is a lifetime job, and because of that, it is so important for parents to have a safety net of friends.
The Little Gym of Tustin is committed to helping you make new friends and build long lasting relationships for not only your children, but for you as well! Thank you for opening your arms to The Little Gym staff, new friends, and your child's future!

We are on our second week of our new curriculum here at The Little Gym of Tustin, and I am so thrilled to share the amount of success we have had. The curriculum that groups 40 weeks of classes into 12 different learning units has given us as teachers the opportunity to further our abilities as physical educators and allows YOU, the parent, to see more growth in your child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Although every age group has a different learning unit and theme, the first four weeks are designed in all age groups to get the kids comfortable in the gym, with each other, with the equipment, and comfortable with the directive music. WOW! Four weeks to work on these aspects means that our instructors can focus on basic gymnastics skills while giving the children an opportunity to grow self confidence in the gym and with each other. Not only are they learning new skills and making friends, but they are learning valuable life skills such as sharing, being kind, good listening, and the value of succeeding independently.

Already in our classes we have seen huge leaps from week to week. By really narrowing our focus, we are able to concentrate and conquer so many more aspects of development. We appreciate being able to service our community and friends and look forward to such a rewarding Season!
