We've all heard the old adage "practice makes perfect". Here at The Little Gym, however, we believe it's more important that "practice makes progress". Which is why we're so excited to introduce a brand new member benefit called Practice Time!

Open to all students throughout the Season, Practice Time is not the same thing as weekly classes. It's also not a time for free play. Practice Time is a structured and supervised period for children to reinforce the skills they're learning in class each week. It's an optional bonus session. It's a value-add for our members. It's an additional way for your child to benefit from Three-Dimensional Learning. {And best of all, it's free.}

Practice Time will focus specifically on gymnastics techniques...those essential skills that form the core of nearly every physical activity. Students enrolled in Parent/Child, Pre-K, and Grade School Gymnastics will focus on the skills learned in class that week, while Dance, Karate or Sports Skills programs can use Practice Time sessions to develop complementary gymnastics fundamentals.

Practice Times will be held beginning

March 11th! The schedule will be as follows:

Parent/Child Members -> Mondays from 11:00-11:45

Members 3 + years old -> Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00

MAKE SURE TO CALL AHEAD AS SPACES ARE LIMITED! No "drop ins" will be allowed!

Practice Time is for members who are currently enrolled in The Little Gym classes ONLY!

So be sure to ask a team member for more information or to sign up for the next Practice Time Session. With every session spent at The Little Gym, your child is gaining confidence and refining skills. And with the introduction of Practice Time, the path to progress just got a little more direct.

KINDNESS COUNTS!

Kindness Counts!

As a parent, you place tremendous importance on teaching your child positive values and social behaviors. One of the most important behaviors, being kind, is something that can truly be a lifelong task to teach. But how do you foster these positive traits? It turns out that lessons of love and respect for fellow human beings are taught primarily by example. If you want to teach your child to be kind to others, you must do so yourself!

Children who learn respect and empathy and turn those principles into words and acts of kindness can have a huge impact. They make their home and schools better places and are less likely to bully or be violent.

Being kind is important on the playground, in the classroom, at home, and at The Little Gym. During the 2012 Summer Season, children will be exploring the concepts of caring, empathy and kindness through a special partnership with Sprout^®, the 24-hour preschool TV channel, and their prosocial initiative, Kindness Counts. Through active gym experiences and family support tools, children will focus on how to be kind to their body and to others.

So help us help Sprout to make the world a kinder place, one small act at a time! Whenever your child does an Act of Kindness, please fill out an acknowledgment form found at the front desk and turn it in to a teacher. We would love to praise them for their kindness. The gym that collects the most Acts of Kindness will win a visit from a Sprout^®character!
